This class for intermediate and advanced students will focus on creating a cohesive set of thrown vessels, whether a traditional table setting, a serving set, drinkware, or other grouping of pieces that work together for a specific purpose. Demonstrations will focus on the throwing of vessels, with a similar, unified approach. Shaping, mechanics, and aesthetics, in combination with surface design, will also be a collective thread. The goal of this project-focused class is to expand throwing skills while empowering each individual to envision and develop their own signature style. Students must be able to center, pull, and shape fundamental forms, including bowls, cylinders, vases, and plates, on the pottery wheel. Adults aged 18 and over.
