


Fall Adult Wheel Throwing Class: Experienced Beginner & Intermediate
Class Description:
Stretch your wheel-throwing skills in this 8-week course by learning new techniques and honing fundamental skills. This class will expand on the forms taught in previous classes with plenty of time for practicing. Carving and/or painting surface design techniques will be demonstrated to add to students’ decorating repertoire. All pots will be glazed at the end of the class session. Previous experience is required. Students must be proficient in the fundamental throwing techniques and skilled in making forms such as bowls, cylinders, plates, and mugs. Adults aged 18 and over.
Dates: Tuesdays, September 23rd– November 25th, 6-8:30 p.m.
Class fee: $290 (member), $310 (non-member). Several pounds of clay and firing are included in the class fee. Additional clay and firing are available for purchase.
Required tools: A pottery tool kit for wheel throwing.
Students may bring their own tools, but two different kits are available for purchase from the studio.
• Essentials Kit: An assortment of tools needed for throwing and trimming. ($15)
• Premium Kit: A curated kit including the tools in the essentials kit above and additional tools found to be helpful as students begin their pottery journey. The selection is also the most loved by first-time students here at the studio! ($35)
Students may also want a selection of trimming tools, ribs, 2-3 12” hardboard, Medex, or other bats. These tools are available for purchase at the studio. An optional tool is a bat system made by StudioPro, North Star, or Dirty Girls.
Open Studio Membership:
Access to the studio for students enrolled in private or 8-week classes during the current session in which they are enrolled. Includes: 8-week full access during open studio hours and use of all equipment, including wheels, slab roller, extruder, table space, as well as community tools. Fee: $120

Private Class with Registration:
Want a jump start? Add an optional private lesson scheduled before the first class or anytime within the first six weeks. This session is two hours of 1:1 instruction guiding you through the basics of wheel throwing or a particular technique you would like to work more intensely on. Fee: $140
