Class Description:
In this class, we’ll do fun projects that explore and investigate all the ways to hand-build with clay. From pinch pots to long coil snakes, using flat slabs of clay, and modeling, kids will build skills to work with clay in every way. Hand-painting, glazing, using texture, stamping, and other methods used to decorate pieces will be incorporated throughout this 8-week class. Previous experience working with clay is not required. Suggested age: 6-13 years old.
Dates: Wednesdays, April 8th - May 27th, 4-5:15 p.m.
Class Fee: $230. All tools, clay, firing, and glazing are included in the class fee.
Optional Tool Kits: The studio will provide all required tools. However, if you prefer, individual pottery tool kits for hand-building and wheel throwing can be purchased from the studio. Students may also bring their own set of tools. The two options for kits available for purchase from the studio are as follows:
Essentials Kit: An assortment of tools needed for hand-building, throwing, and trimming. ($15)
