Come learn about clay with us and get a little messy in the process. This class will focus on working with clay on and off the potter’s wheel! In this introduction students will hand build using the processes that are the foundation for all functional, decorative, and sculptural forms. Students will also spend time on the potter’s wheel learning completely different ways of making with clay! Methods of decorating pots and glazing will be introduced as well. Learn all the essentials of working with clay, the entire process from the very beginning and finishing pots in this all-encompassing summer experience designed just for kids. Previous experience working with clay is not required. Taught by Christina Milliman.

Required tools: basic wheel throwing kit*

Suggested aged: 10 – 14 years old

Want a jump start? Add an optional private lesson scheduled before the first class or anytime within the eight weeks. This session is two-hours of 1:1 instruction guiding you through the basics of wheel throwing or a particular technique you would like to work more intensely on. Fee: $140

Wednesdays, June 26th – August 14th 3:30 - 5:30 pm

Class Fee: $238. Several pounds of clay and firing are included in the class fee. Additional clay and firing are available for purchase.
