Solving Clay Cunundrums: Wheel Throwing Edition

$95.00

Do you struggle with things like centering, keeping your pot in the round when opening or pulling walls? Do you have wheel-throwing problems you’re not sure how to fix, or you don't know why they happen? If you answered yes to any of these questions, this workshop was made for you! Maybe you're new to the studio and want a jump start on your winter course, it’s been a while since you’ve thrown, or you've been with the studio but would love a refresher on the fundamentals.

In this workshop, we'll break down each step of centering, opening, and pulling into manageable parts. We’ll discuss, discern, and practice the nuances of throwing, including hand positions, pressure, and more, plus ways to fix common challenges. Leave feeling more confident and at ease with the techniques that are the basis of everything you make on the wheel and as you progress along your pottery path. Adults over age 18.

Note: This is a skill-based workshop, and we will demonstrate and practice only throwing. Pottery made in the workshop will not be finished, including trimming, firing, or glazing.

Date: Saturday, January 9th, 1 p.m.- 5 p.m.

Workshop Fee: $95 per person. Includes group and personalized instruction, clay, and tools. If you prefer, feel free to bring your own personal (basic) wheel-throwing toolkit.
