Throwing the neck on bottle. In this video, I am throwing the neck on the bottom part of a thrown and trimmed bottle. The bottom is in a chuck or mass of clay to hold it in place while I add the neck portion of the piece. This bottle is a collaborative piece that was made during a workshop with Peter Callas in October 2020.

Slip trailing a large vase. Slip trailing is a technique that uses slip which is a combination of clay, water and a colorant (optional) to create patterns or decoration on a pot. Here I am applying one of my patterns using individual dots of slip.

Trimming a pasta bowl. Trimming is the process of reducing clay on the bottom and outside of a pot. It is also when the foot ring is made. The options and styles for foot rings are endless, and how is created should accent the shape and form of the pot. In this video, I use several types of trim tools to get the effect I want to achieve.
