Just for the Adults: A Clay Experience Workshop
Get out of the house and do something fun with friends or family in this private workshop for four to twelve people! During this exclusive two-hour workshop, you will have a great time together as you learn to work with clay. You can try the potter's wheel or learn basic hand-building techniques. Enjoy an afternoon or evening in the studio, having fun together in a bright, cheerful, and relaxed atmosphere.
Learn about the process of making pottery, and the seven to eight steps from start to finish. You will be guided through the three primary techniques of wheel throwing and making a pot on the potters wheel, and may choose to try your hand at making multiple pieces, including a cup, bowl, small planter, vase, or similar form. Hand-building techniques are used to create objects, whether functional, decorative, or sculptural, without using the pottery wheel. These vary from long coils of clay to flat slabs and other methods of construction.
$70 per person for wheel throwing or hand-building. This fee includes all materials, glazing, and firing of one piece per person. We will also be happy to arrange shipping of finished pieces to you. If you are local to the studio, we will arrange for you to pick up your pieces once they are ready to go home. All pieces will be finished and fired twice within 4-8 weeks from the workshop date. Workshop times can be booked for up to 10 people for wheel throwing and 12 people for hand building. A minimum of four people are required to book a private workshop.
